Why Import Your Bookmarks?

Have you ever needed a bookmark and realized it was on some other computer? Or have you ever wanted to save a bookmark, but you weren't on your primary computer? Bookmarks shouldn't be tied to just one computer. You should be able to use them, add to them, and manage them from any computer anywhere anytime. AntStorm delivers this capability - with a vengeance. Import your bookmarks and then check out My Nest - by far the nicest way to manage your bookmarks on the Web today.

But that's just the start. Once you've imported your bookmarks, you can easily share lists of your favorite bookmarks with others as trails on AntStorm, Google, Yahoo!, MSN, and other search engines. You can collaborate with others to see their favorite links about the topics that interest you. You can generate money for your favorite charities from the advertising on your trail pages. And a whole lot more. Follow the instructions below to import your browser bookmarks, and get started today!

How To Import Your Bookmarks

Importing your bookmarks into AntStorm is easy. Just follow these steps:

  • You must be an AntStorm member to import your bookmarks. If you have not yet joined the AntStorm colony, then click the Register link in the upper right corner of any page on the site, and follow the instructions to register as a new member.
  • If you are already a member, click the My Nest link in the upper right corner of any page on the site. If you do not see the My Nest link, then you need to sign in by clicking the Sign In link in the upper right corner of any page.
  • Once you are in My Nest, click the Trails tab. Then click the Import Bookmarks link under the page title.
  • On the Import page, look on the right side of the page, and you will see import instruction links for Firefox and Internet Explorer. Click the link to get instructions for the browser you use, and follow the instructions to import your bookmarks.
  • If you use a browser other than Firefox or IE, we're very sorry that we do not yet support other browsers.

After You Import Your Bookmarks

After you have imported your bookmarks into AntStorm, things you should consider doing next are:

  • Download The AntStorm Toolbar. After importing your bookmarks, you can visit AntStorm from any computer anywhere anytime to use, add to, and manage your bookmarks in My Nest. For computers you use frequently, it's a great idea to download the AntStorm toolbar. This toolbar lets you quickly access your bookmarks from a toolbar menu, and also lets you easily add any page you view in your browser to your AntStorm bookmarks.
  • Share Some of Your Favorite Bookmarks as Trails. After importing your bookmarks, you can take a list of your favorite bookmarks on a particular topic, add a few annotations, and then share it as a trail so other users can benefit from it. Your trail will be indexed not just on AntStorm, but also Google, Yahoo!, Microsoft and other search engines. Your trail can save other users hours or days of research reinventing the wheel when you have already done the hard work of finding the best links on a given topic.
  • Choose Charities to Benefit from Your Trails. When you share a trail with others, we place ads from the Google ad network on your trail page. AntStorm gives 15% of the money we get from Google to charity, and you can easily choose from any of 1.5 million charities so that your trails benefit the causes that are most important to you.
  • Start a Group to Collaborate on Trails. You have a set of favorite bookmarks on a topic, but what good stuff are you missing? AntStorm lets you form groups to collaborate on trails with others who share your interests. All the members of the group can suggest their favorite links about the shared topic of interest, and everyone benefits.
